Exemplifying poise and an intense commitment to his craft, Dwayne Robinson has risen to become one of the leading names in Information Technology and Cyber Security. In his role as Global Director of Label and Supply Chain Cyber Security at Universal Music Group, Dwayne is directly responsible for protecting the organization against trademark infringements, content leaks and overall security breaches. By remaining up to date with the latest processes and cutting-edge technology, he works to safeguard the material assets of numerous record labels under the Universal Music Group umbrella. With the ability to simultaneously navigate corporate culture and the dynamic environment of the entertainment industry, Dwayne has continuously managed to execute the vision of key stakeholders.

Dwayne’s career spans more than three decades within the trucking industry and music sphere; with his passion for electronics serving as the initial spark. During a time where PC-use was still fairly new, Dwayne parlayed his early knowledge into a formidable career almost directly after high school. During his time at U-Haul, where he was hired to wash trucks, Dwayne would often be called in to assist with rental contracts and other computer-related activities. Noted for his PC proficiency, he was eventually promoted to Computer Support Technician. During his decade-long career with the company, he grew to support locations both nationwide and in Canada as Senior Technical Analyst. Having proved himself to be both innovative and highly skilled, he eventually sought out opportunities to take his career to the next level and was, without hesitation, welcomed into the Universal Music Group family.

Over the course of his career, Dwayne has found that accomplished mentors have played an important role. One of his earliest mentors, Paul Satenstein—Chief Financial Officer at the former MCA Records—noticed Dwayne’s professionalism and composure when a technological issue almost brought a company-wide event to a halt. Determined to bring him into the MCA-fold, Paul was responsible for Dwayne’s first major promotion in the music industry. Dwayne also credits finance executive, Albert Lomeli, and music executive, Benjamin Pough, with shaping his financial expertise and general business savvy, respectively.

Even with all of his success, Dwayne has managed to actively pursue his personal endeavors. Always deeply fond of aviation, he is a licensed pilot with his Multi-Engine Instrument Rating who has aspirations of pursuing his Commercial Multi-Engine Rating. Noting the lack of minorities in the realms of aviation and information technology, Dwayne hopes to create opportunities to educate and usher hopeful students into both industries. He even served on the board of I Am Digital, a non-profit which helps to promote education within the STEM field for underprivileged youth.

Through it all, Dwayne’s greatest accomplishment is his seven year old son, whom he credits as the reason for his continuous growth; particularly in the area of education. As of May 2021, Dwayne is proud to have earned two Master degrees when he earned his M.S. in Cyber Security Engineering from the University of Southern California. He has also earned his Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from the Florida Institute of Technology and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Southern California.
